KIDS

HOW CAN I PREP MY CHILD FOR THEIR PHOTO SHOOT?

Spend the weeks before the shoot educating your child about what it means to have their picture taken. As little models they will be asked to sit still, pose a certain way, and, most importantly, listen to a complete stranger: Me. Make certain your child is well-rested when they arrive, and that they have a belly full of healthy goodies to fuel their patience.

HOW LONG IS THE SHOOT?

Your shoot will last up to 2 hours. I try to shoot as quickly as possible. Kids loose interest fast. Your specific package defines how many wardrobe changes you have. I advise you bring 3X the amount of clothing you think you’ll need, so that we can review your options together.

HOW MANY PHOTOS CAN I EXPECT TO TAKE HOME?

You will be sent 20-30 of your best shots 2 – 3 weeks after the shoot. Prints are not provided. You can upload the photos and order prints on your own. This proves to be the easiest and most cost-effective means for the both of us.

I BOOKED A MODEL SHOOT FOR MY OLDEST CHILD, BUT MY YOUNGEST MIGHT BE INTERESTED, TOO.  COULD WE TRY HIM/HER OUT BY TAKING SOME PHOTOS OF HIM/HER, TOO?

Nope.  That's like walking into a restaurant, ordering two meals and expecting to pay for one.  Just because photography is a creative business doesn't make less of a business.  If you would like a second shoot, then let's discuss beforehand how to make a financial deal that would be worthwhile for you.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE CLOTHES FOR MY CHILD'S SHOOT?

If you are looking to “style” your shoot yourself (this is especially important if we are doing your child’s modeling comp card) spend some time looking over ads for children’s clothing (Gap Kids, Osh Kosh, etc.). These will give you an idea of the current trends and help you pull together outfits with accessories (scarves, gloves, hats). Some ideas which you may already have at home: a rain jacket with umbrella, overalls and baseball cap, cute “statement” hats for headshots, your little girl’s dance costume/tutu, brightly colored pajamas, sports uniform, school uniform. In general, solid colors read best on camera.

DO YOU RECOMMEND MAKEUP FOR KIDS?

I do not. Occasionally a bit of lip gloss or blush will be in order, but other than that, I don’t recommend full makeup for kids who haven’t entered adolescence.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO SHOOT TRADITIONAL PORTRAITS AS WELL AS “ACTION” SHOTS?

Absolutely! Let’s make sure we discuss this before your booking. Even if you aren’t a member of Facebook, my Liza Lentini Photography Facebook page features several varying portfolios for perusal purposes.

WHAT IF I HAVE CERTAIN SHOTS IN MIND? A CERTAIN LOCATION OR LOOK FOR MY CHILD?

Let’s talk about it before your shoot so we can be sure you have what you want. It’s a mistake to wait until it’s too late!
